Product Overview
Anti-static black EVA foam sheet is a high-performance ESD packaging material made by adding conductive carbon black and other conductive fillers into the EVA matrix. Its surface resistivity is stable within 10⁶–10¹¹ Ω/sq, classifying it as a static-dissipative material that safely and gradually drains static charge to ground, preventing electrostatic discharge (ESD) damage to sensitive electronic components.
Standard sheet sizes are 1 m × 3 m and 1.2 m × 2.4 m, and the material can be cut to any shape or dimension. It has a uniform texture, does not shed particles or crumbs, and is suitable for cleanrooms and electronics production areas.
ESD Principle and Classification
Materials are classified by surface resistivity into three levels:
- Conductive: 10³–10⁵ Ω/sq — fastest dissipation, for highly sensitive devices
- Static dissipative: 10⁶–10¹¹ Ω/sq — controlled, moderate dissipation; the mainstream choice for electronics packaging
- Insulative: above 10¹² Ω/sq — cannot dissipate static effectively
This product is static dissipative, balancing safety and practicality, and meets the requirements of ANSI/ESD S20.20 and IEC 61340-5-1 for ESD protective materials.
Advantages
- Permanent anti-static: conductive carbon black is dispersed throughout the material, so performance does not decay over time or with humidity changes
- Cushioning protection: closed-cell EVA absorbs energy, resisting shock and impact
- Clean and safe: no crumbs, no shedding, non-toxic and odorless; meets electronics-grade cleanliness requirements
- Easy to process: CNC cutting, die cutting and stamping into complex shapes
- Dimensionally stable: good rebound, resists deformation in long-term use
Typical Applications
- Electronics packaging: IC chip trays, PCB transfer pads, SMT magazine liners
- Precision instruments: optical lens locator foam, sensor protective packaging, medical device liners
- Semiconductor industry: wafer box liners, chip carrier gaskets, cleanroom bench mats
- Industrial and aerospace: component cushion packaging, avionics protection, transit liners
- Tool cases: custom ESD foam for tool cases and maintenance kit locator trays
Processing and Testing
We run multi-head CNC cutting machines for batch production of complex anti-static foam parts. Every batch is sampled and tested with a surface resistivity meter to confirm values stay within 10⁶–10¹¹ Ω/sq, and a test report is provided.
